At New Lambton Family Dental, it is our goal to provide the customised dental care to our patients by utilising the latest technologies in preventive and general dentistry.
With good preventive and general dentistry in New Lambton, NSW, you can help maintain your teeth and can often avoid the costly and complex dental problems that may develop later without proper care.
Prevention for Healthy Smiles
Good preventive practices include:
- Routine check-ups and cleans to maintain your smile
- Diagnostic x-rays to help prevent dental issues
- Fluoride application and fissure sealants to help keep your enamel strong and cavity-free
We use an airflow machine to gently and thoroughly clean your teeth, removing stubborn bacteria and plaque with ease. If you are prone to cavities or have been diagnosed with periodontal disease, we may provide a customised treatment plan to better address your dental issues. This may include advanced cleans more often.
We also recommend a good prevention plan at home, which includes:
- Brushing at least twice per day
- Flossing daily
- Avoiding sugary treats and drinks
Our New Lambton, NSW dentist or hygienist may recommend specific at-home care or a special routine based on your unique oral health profile.
General Dentistry to Maintain Your Smile
General dentistry picks up where prevention leaves off. General dentistry provides the maintenance required to help you reclaim better oral health after a problem arises. Issues addressed under general dentistry include anything that helps you with chewing, comfort, tooth viability and oral health.
Examples include:
- Periodontal disease treatment
- Root canal treatment
- Tooth-coloured restorations
- Dentures or partials
- Same-day crowns and single-visit restorations
- Cosmetic dentistry
Replacing Missing Teeth
Replacing missing teeth may improve chewing, speaking ability and help prevent future dental issues. This is why we can consider tooth replacement part of general dentistry.
A dental implant replaces a missing tooth, including the root, which may help prevent bone loss in your jaw.
Sturdy implant screws are implanted in your jawbone. These posts are intended to bond with your bone over 3-6 months. When integration is finished, you are ready for a replacement tooth.
If you have several missing teeth or full tooth loss, fixed dentures or implant-supported dentures are an option as well. In most cases, several dental implants can support a full denture.
Remember, missing teeth can lead to bone loss, shifting teeth and future dental issues.

Frequently Asked Questions
Our dentists recommend exams and teeth cleans regularly and according to your oral health. During these appointments, you will receive an examination and an oral cancer screen, which may be more treatable if caught in the earliest stages.
Cleans are important because stubborn tartar and bacteria cannot always be cleared away through brushing and flossing alone. Our hygienist has equipment and technologies available to help clear away bacteria that may lead to gum disease, cavities and infections. Our hygienist will also give you tips to help you maintain your teeth and gums better between visits to our New Lambton, NSW dental clinic.
If you have a specific dental issue, one of our dentists or hygienists may recommend a custom treatment schedule to help keep your teeth and gums in good order. This may include extra dental cleans and specific target therapies.
At New Lambton Family Dental, our goal is to keep you and your family members smiling through the ages, and this means regular preventive dentistry.
Periodically, one of our dentists may recommend an x-ray if there are no recent x-rays on file or if a dental issue is suspected.
If you haven’t been to your dentist in a while, we would love to welcome you back. If it’s time to schedule your exam and clean, we anticipate your call.
